The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be the first ever Men’s tournament to be held in an Arab country and it will also be the most compatible event which will allow fans to socialize with other people from different country.

Qatar as the nation gears up to host the FIFA World Cup 2022. A total of 7 new stadiums were constructed for the tournament while another has already undergone extensive renovation. The 8 venues are set to be divided across the nation, with all less than an hour from the capital of Doha.

With high summer temperature in Arabian countries, the stadiums are set to feature climate-controlling technology to combat the sweltering Qatari summer heat, which can easily surpass 40ºC. There has been a race against time to have all 8 Qatar World Cup stadiums ready on time for this massive event and soccer fans across the globe have been keen to learn the details of each arena.

Each stadium, training facility and fan zone is equipped with solar-powered cooling technology to keep the temperature at 27C. All stadiums are eco-friendly and their temperature will be controllable.

Qatar is a home for less than 3 million people, so the legacy of the tournament has to be managed carefully. To that end, the tournament organizers have pledged to build stadiums with modular elements, which will be reconfigured after the tournament to provide a lasting legacy for the 2022 FIFA World Cup far beyond Qatar’s borders.

Delivered by Aspire Zone Foundation, this stadium can seat up to 60,000 spectators. It is unique with its giant tent structure covering the whole stadium that is named after bayt al sha’ar – tents historically used by nomadic peoples in Qatar and the Gulf region.

The stadium’s design honors Qatar’s past and present while being a model of green development and sustainability. After the tournament, the upper part of the stadium will be dissembled and the removed seats will be donated to other countries.

Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium

The stadium is reflecting the Qatari culture through its “spectacular undulating façade”. It will be downsized to nearly 20,000 seats after the tournament, and the removed seats will be given to football development projects abroad.

2022 FIFA World Cup: FIFA Council gives approval for countries to present 26 players

The Bureau of FIFA Council has given approval for qualified countries to proceed to the 2022 FIFA World Cup with 26 players.

The squad size of 26 will be an increase from the usual 23-man squad used by national teams at the mundial in the past editions.

73rd FIFA Congress

The 73rd FIFA Congress will be held in Kigali, Rwanda on 16 March 2023. The 2023 FIFA presidential election will take place at the 73rd FIFA Congress, the call for which was approved by the FIFA Council during its meeting on 30 March 2022.

Kigali already hosted a meeting of the FIFA Council in October 2018.

Amendments to the Regulations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™

Given the need to retain additional flexibility due to the unique timing of the FIFA World Cup 2022™ in the global calendar, as well as the broader context of the disruptive effects caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on squads before and during tournaments, the Bureau has decided the following: • The maximum number of players on the release list has been increased from 35 to 55. • The number of players to be included on the final list has been increased to at least 23 and a maximum of 26. • The final matchday at club level for the 23 to 26 players nominated on the final list will be 13 November 2022. • No more than 26 people (up to 15 substitutes and 11 team officials – one of these officials must be the team doctor) will be allowed to sit on the team bench.

Equipment Regulations for FIFA competitions

Following an in-depth review of the 2015 edition of the FIFA Equipment Regulations, which considered best practices in football and selected sports industry regulations, whilst also taking into account relevant provisions of the Laws of the Game and other FIFA regulations, the Bureau has decided to apply changes for the 2022 edition. FIFA U-20 World Cup Indonesia 2023™

In December 2020, as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bureau decided to cancel the 2021 edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup™ and appointed the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) to host the competition in 2023. Following discussions with the PSSI, as well as consultations with all confederations, the Bureau has confirmed that the tournament will be played from 20 May to 11 June 2023.
